Brodynt’s “Global Solutions with a Local Approach” model was applied to use local resources in each location rather than using fly-in engineers. This way, not only the high costs of moving specialized engineers to installation sites were saved for our customer’s benefit –we were also able to avoid a lot of travel delay. In some cases, such as Brazil, it was also important to buy the equipment locally to avoid any problems with customs. Brodynt staff remotely monitored all of the field operations.
In each location, as soon as the Cisco equipment arrived to our local engineer’s hands, we were able to agree on a date with local contacts to perform the installation. A time window was also agreed with Brodynt’s customer, in order to make sure that they could also perform their own checks before the Field Engineer was authorized to leave the site.
Once the Field Engineer arrived at each site, the first step was to upload the configuration file onto the given Cisco equipment. Configuration was performed taking into account the assigned IP, gateway and mask for each site. This information had been provided by the customer prior to planning any intervention.
Once our provisioning team detected that each Cisco device was remotely accessible via telnet, we asked the customer to double-check that everything was working fine on their side. Once this first step was successfully performed, it was necessary to implement switch migration. The Field Engineer, acting as “remote hands”, was able to locate the switch and connect it using the new Cisco equipment.
Brodynt also offered the maintenance of the installation as a unified service, and support 24x7x365 was offered for all installed networking hardware through our qualified, locally based engineers.
“This organised methodology in the delivery process was key to having a shared calendar between Brodynt, our customer, and the end customer”, said Marc Muñoz, Global Access & Business Development Director. “We were able to install Cisco IPsec VPN equipment in dozens of locations spread around the globe, using local resources and offering high-quality service aimed at achieving full customer satisfaction. We look forward to keep developing and expanding our glocal model in the future.”
